1. Historical background:
The College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Jabalpur was inaugurated on July 8, 2021 as Central Provinces and Berar Veterinary College by Shri Jairamdas Daulatram, the then Agriculture Minister, Govt. of India. This is the oldest constituent college (Estt. 1948) of the Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur (Estt. 1964), over the last more than five decades of its existence, has been able to make an impeccable impact on the overall development of livestock production and management through its impressive teaching, research and extension activities in basic and applied fields. Consequent to the establishment of Madhya Pradesh Pashu Chikitsha Vigyan Viswavidyalaya the college became a constitution institution of the new Viswa Vidyalaya with effect from 3-11-2009.

The college has a composite livestock farm at Adhartal ( 8 k.m. from College) opposite the Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Viswa Vidyalaya. This is spread over an area of 65 acres. It has a dairy, poultry, piggery, fishery, fodder and vermicompost unit.

2. Imparting training and farm advisory services to farmers, veterinary officers and officers of the related departments.
3. Provide service facilities by supplying wholesome milk and milk products to Viswa Vidyalaya students, employees and city dwellers.
8. General Facilities:
The college has boy’s and girl’s hostel, play ground, gymnasium, auditorium and guest house facility. Sports items such as table tennis, volley ball, badminton, carom, basket ball, football, cricket kits and chess were provided to the students. Besides this, the college encourages extra-curricular activities that enrich cultural, physical, mental and social life of the students. The students regularly participate in various events such as debate, extempore, folk dance, folk song, skit, mime, classical songs, instruments playing etc.

History :
The College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Jabalpur was inaugurated on July 8, 2021 as Central Provinces and Berar Veterinary College by Shri Jairamdas Daulatram, the then Agriculture Minister, Govt. of India. On the occasion of the golden Jublee celebration of the college on 17th February, 1999 number of ex-students who come from different states assembled in the college conference hall and exchanged their views and feelings and formed Jabalpur Veterinary College Alumni Association.
